Who was John Robbins?

John Robbins was a beloved author, speaker, social activist, humanitarian, and father. As president and co-founder of Food Revolution Network, John dedicated his life to helping people make informed and empowering choices that support their health, nourish their spirit, and contribute to a more sustainable and compassionate world.


He is best known as the author of the international bestseller Diet for a New America: How Your Food Choices Affect Your Health, Happiness, and the Future of Life on Earth, a landmark book that has inspired millions toward plant-powered living.


John was also the founder of EarthSave International, an organization committed to promoting healthy food choices, preserving the environment, and cultivating a kinder, more ethical world.


Throughout his life, John received numerous accolades including the Rachel Carson Award, the Albert Schweitzer Humanitarian Award, the Peace Abbey Courage of Conscience Award, and Green America’s Lifetime Achievement Award. He was widely regarded as one of the most powerful and eloquent voices for a sustainable, ethical, and healthy future.


John Robbins passed away on June 11, 2025. His life and work continue to inspire people around the globe. The nonprofit Food Revolution Alliance was formed in his honor, to carry his legacy forward.
